Assigning Meridian Explorer work packages

Meridian Explorer work packages are analogous to a engineering change orders (ECO).

Each work package can contain:

Work packages are the means by which design changes can be initiated in Meridian Explorer, conducted in Meridian Enterprise, and new revisions synchronized back to Meridian Explorer. The changes are made in Meridian Enterprise project folders. When you assign a work package to a project, project copies of the master documents for the items in the work package are made in the project that you select. The project copies can then be modified as usual in any workflow and released as new revisions of the master documents. The master documents will then be synchronized to Meridian Explorer.

Before you begin

The project folder must exist where you want to assign the work package. You must know the name of the work package that you want to assign to the project.

To assign a Meridian Explorer work package:

  1. In the Explorer view, right-click the project where you want to assign the work package. The Select work package for <Project Name> project dialog box appears. It lists all of the work packages that have been submitted in Meridian Explorer and have the status of Ready.
  2. Select the work package that you want to assign to the folder.
  3. Click OK. Project copies are made in the selected project folder.
